Space Race, a series of celebratory illustrations for pioneering times in space exploration and racing, is also educational. Each motif represents one milestone in the history of space research. Another motive will be a soviet SPUTNIK.
T-shirt text: STS-1 was the first American orbital space flight under the Space Shuttle program. It was also the first mission of the space shuttle Columbia and the first flight of the space shuttle at all. Columbia took off from the Kennedy Space Center on April 12, 1981, and returned to Earth on April 14, landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California after 37 orbits around Earth.
